Ganguly revealed that the resumption of bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan is not under the control of two cricket boards. The BCCI president further added that the decision lies with the government.
“This is not in the hands of the boards. At world tournaments, the two teams do play each other. Bilateral cricket has been stopped for years and this is something that the respective governments have to work on. This is not in Rameez’s hands, nor mine”.
India and Pakistan played against each other in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 after a gap of two years. Pakistan won the game by 10 wickets. Meanwhile, the two last played in a bilateral series in 2012. The Men in Green came to India to compete in ODIs and T20Is.
