The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday gave relief to Indian cricketer Yash Dayal by staying the arrest of the player for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman.
Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar announced their verdict on Dayal’s petition.
The court told the state counsel to file a counter-affidavit and also notified the woman to do so in the case.
The FIR against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer was registered on July 6 at the Indirapuram police station. She accused the cricketer of exploitation on the pretext of marrying her.

“It is apparent that the two parties were in a relationship for five years. It is difficult to find out whether there was a promise of marriage or it was a false one from the starting with an intention to obtain sexual constent,” the court said.
“The petitioner shall not be arrested until the next date of hearing or until the police report is filed,” the court added.
According to the woman, she met Yash Dayal five years ago, and the player promised to marry her. She also learned about Dayal’s relationships with other women.
Meanwhile, he played a significant role in RCB’s maiden IPL trophy in 2025. He picked up key wickets during the season and was hailed by captain Rajat Patidar and star batter Virat Kohli for his performances.
