All eyes were on Virat Kohli when he walked out to the middle to take guard at the Ageas Bowl in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final. The Indian skipper came out to bat when the side had just lost their two openers and was in a spot of bother with the conditions favouring the New Zealand seamers.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Army – a group of Indian cricket team fans who travel around the world to support the team – recreated a verse from the iconic song, “We Will Rock You” from a London-based world-renowned Rock-band, Queen, to cheer the Indian team skipper.
“Kohli is a boy making big noise when he picks the bat he will take on the world these days. Got blue in his veins, fashion that raze, smashing New Zealand all over the place. (Original: Buddy, you’re a boy, make a big noise Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday You got mud on your face, you big disgrace Kicking your can all over the place.”
Meanwhile, India resumed play on Day 3 from their overnight total of 144/3. Virat Kohli, who ended Day 2 at 44, couldn’t even bother the scorer as he was dismissed leg-before-wicket by Kyle Jamieson. India were eventually bowled out for 217 as Jamieson recorded a five-wicket haul.
