The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has told Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to play domestic cricket to wear the national jersey in the future. The two legends have retired from Test cricket and T20Is and are active only in ODIs. Ahead of the ODI series against South Africa, the subject of them competing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy has intensified.
According to the Indian Express, Rohit is ready to play in the domestic tournament while Kohli hasn’t revealed anything.
“The board and the team management have told them that they will have to play domestic cricket if they want to represent India. As they have retired from two formats, they will have to be a part of the domestic set-up to be match fit,” sources in the BCCI told The Indian Express.
