The BCCI has revealed that the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be played in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara, running from January 9 to February 5. The announcement was made by WPL chairman Jayesh George during the opening speech at the WPL mega auction in New Delhi on November 27.

Many had expected the WPL to adopt a home-and-away format this year, building on the excitement from the Women’s World Cup 2025 in India. However, the BCCI appears to be delaying the expansion of the league to other cities.

The 2026 WPL season will kick off at the DY Patil Stadium, the same venue that hosted the Women’s World Cup final, where India triumphed over South Africa earlier this month to secure their first world title.

The tournament will follow the caravan format, kicking off in Navi Mumbai and concluding in Vadodara with the title clash

In 2025, the WPL featured matches at four locations Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Vadodara. The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai hosted the final, where Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians triumphed over Delhi Capitals, winning their second title.

India gears up for a packed start to 2026, hosting consecutive high-profile events. Post-WPL, the men’s T20 World Cup will be played in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, while the India–Pakistan blockbuster will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The 2026 T20 World Cup is set to take place from 7 February to 8 March.
