The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced INR 51 crore prize money for the women’s team following their 52-run win over South Africa in the final in Navi Mumbai.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia informed the media about the Indian cricket board’s decision. Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India scored 298/7 and restricted South Africa to 246.

Shafali Verma was the star of the final, contributing with bat and ball. She replaced injured Pratika Rawal before the semi-final against Australia and managed 87 runs in the title clash. She also took two crucial wickets in the form of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp in the middle overs.

“ICC chairman Jay Shah had announced a 300 percent increase in the prize money for the Women’s World Cup. The fund was raised from 3.888 million dollars to 14 million dollars. The BCCI has decided to reward the Indian team and the support staff with a total of INR 51 crore,” Devajit Saikia told ANI.

How much money will India get for winning the World Cup?

India have been awarded INR 37.3 crore for winning the global tournament. Australia, the previous winners in 2022, had received INR 11 crore. The total prize pool was INR 116 crore for the 2025 Women’s World Cup. A total of INR 29 crore was distributed in 2022. The total prize money of the 2023 Men’s World Cup was INR 84 crore.
