Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are competing in the final of the Indian Premier League 2024. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first in Chennai. However, his move back-fired as KKR bowlers were spot on from the start and never allowed the rival batters to break free.
Mitchell Starc, who was trolled by former India players and fans for his below-par bowling, bowled a peach of a delivery to dangerous Abhishek Sharma.
In the first over of the innings, Starc’s ball pitch on the middle and leg stump and went on to hit the top of the off stump. Sharma, who has close to scoring 500 runs in the season, was shocked.
Starc provided another much-needed start to the two-time champions. Former India player Harbhajan Singh heaped massive praise on the Aussie pacer.
“For me, it is the ball of the tournament. Abhishek had no chance and was stunned. The ball swung a lot and hit the off stump,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Sunrisers were bowled out for 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Andre Russell took three wickets, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana added two scalps each, respectively.
