Jason Holder has pipped Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from the top spot in ICC Test all-rounder rankings.
Jadeja had reached the pinnacle of the rankings after his match-winning all-round display in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali.
However, he failed to carry on in the second Test and was replaced by Holder, who showed his class in the first Test against England.
Ravichandran Ashwin, Skaib Al Hasan and Ben Stokes are in the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots.
Shreyas Iyer made a massive jump of 40 places in the batting department and is now placed at the 37th spot.
He scored two consecutive fifties in the day-night Test against Lanka in Bengaluru and was also named the Man of the Match. Virat Kohli lost 4 places and is now the 9th best globally.
Marnus Labuschagne leads the table with a rating of 936. He is followed by Joe Root, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Dimuth Karunaratne.
In the bowlers’ rankings, Jasprit Bumrah has entered the top five and is now the fourth-best Test bowler in the world. He took 10 wickets in a two-match Test series against the visitors.
Indian players are expected to lose their spots as they will be involved in the Indian Premier League 2022. The first match of the season will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 at the Wankhede stadium.
