Babar Azam features in an ICSE Textbook
Interestingly, numerous prominent cricketers worldwide were featured in the exercise.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is in hot form with the bat. The 28-year-old was last year’s top scorer across all formats and has maintained the same touch in 2023.

Babar, so far, has played three ODIs this year and scored 149 runs with the help of two fifty-plus knocks against New Zealand, which Pakistan lost 1-2 recently.

Azam, world’s number-one ranked player in the ODI rankings, has shattered several records in his eight-year-long career.

Babar is the fastest Pakistani to score 200 ODI runs and also the fastest Asian to reach the 3000 figure. Further, he is again eyeing a major record as he nears 5000 ODI runs.

The 28-year-old has scored 4813 runs in 93 innings, at an average of 59.41. The right-hand player is just 167 runs away from completing 5000 ODI runs.

If Babar collects 167 runs in the next seven innings, he will break Hashim Amla’s record to become the fastest player to score 5000 ODI runs. The South African legend holds the record as he achieved the feat in 101 innings.

Further, if Babar completes 5k runs in less than seven innings, he would become the first batter in history to reach the milestone in less than 100 innings.
