India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik feels Pakistan skipper Babar Azam can become the No.1 batter in all three formats of the game. Babar is the top batter in white-ball formats, while he is ranked fifth in Test cricket.
He is behind the likes of Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root. Karthik, who has been the best finisher in IPL 2022, is confident that the Pakistan captain will soon be topping the batting charts in red-ball cricket.
“One-hundred per cent (he is capable of achieving that),” Karthik told The ICC Review on Friday. “
“He has been phenomenal across formats. I think he has the potential to rule international cricket and do special things for his country,” he added.
Karthik further added that it is a matter of time before Babar joins Fab Four. “It is a very strong ‘Fab Four’ that we are talking about but Babar is going to make it a ‘Fab Five’,” said Karthik.
