Mohammad Rizwan's sacking

Mohammad Rizwan has been sacked as Pakistan’s vice-captain in ODIs, with Shan Masood replacing him for the upcoming series against New Zealand.

According to a report by Samaa TV, Babar thought the decision was taken by the interim selection committee headed by Shahid Afridi as he was not aware of the development.

He inquired about it with one of the selectors, who told him that the Shahid Afridi-led team had no information about Rizwan’s removal and Masood’s appointment.

Meanwhile, Rizwan was recently dropped from the playing XI in Test cricket and Sarafar Ahmed, who played in his place, made a sensational return. He scored three fifties and a hundred in a two-match series against the Kiwis and was named the Man of the Series.

However, Afridi had backed Rizwan in the press conference, saying he is the number one wicketkeeper of the Pakistan national cricket team and there was no intention of replacing him in white-ball cricket.
