Upon returning home, Ayush Mhatre had the privilege of meeting Sachin Tendulkar, who marked the occasion with an extraordinary gift. Tendulkar presented Mhatre with his jersey, along with a heartfelt handwritten note. The cricket legend revealed that it was the jersey from his final series, intending to fuel the young player’s ambitions of making it to India’s senior squad.
“Stay focused and keep putting in the effort. Don’t let others sway you. Keep practicing and stay committed. Distractions will come, in many forms, but your focus is key,” Tendulkar advised Mhatre in the video.
Tendulkar included a heartfelt note on the jersey for Mhatre, which read,
