Saba Karim has slammed Avesh's critics and said that if you have invested in youngsters for a long time, you can't leave them stranded.

Avesh Khan was Team India’s bowling star in the fourth T20I against South Africa. The young pacer took 4 wickets and conceded just 18 from 4 overs as India defeated the Proteas by 82 runs to level the series 2-2 with one more game to go.

Avesh, who was brilliant in the Indian Premier League, bowled economically well for the Men in Blue in the ongoing series. However, former India players Ashish Nehra, Parthiv Patel and Sanjay Bangar wanted him to be dropped from the Playing XI.

According to them, Arshdeep Singh was a better option, considering death overs. Avesh’s performance has given them a befitting reply ahead of the big and final game.

Meanwhile, India were in early trouble with Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer departing early in the innings. Even captain Rishabh Pant failed to up the tempo of the innings and scored just 17 off 23 balls.

Dinesh Karthik (55 off 27 balls) and Hardik Pandya (46 off 31 balls) took the hosts to 166 for 6 in 20 overs.

India are playing without Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah.
