Australian cricket legend Rod Marsh has suffered a serious heart attack and is admitted to a Queensland hospital.

He was present in Bundaberg to attend an event for the Bulls Masters charity group.

He was taken to hospital by Bulls Masters organizers John Glanville and David Hillier.

“John and Dave deserve appreciation for their quick thinking as the doctor said if they had waited for the ambulance, they would have lost Marsh,” Bulls Masters boss Jimmy Maher told News Corp.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said: “We are very concerned to hear the news about Rod and send him all our best wishes.

“Our thoughts are with him, his wife Ros and their family and many friends at this difficult time. Rod is one of the most iconic and popular figures in the game and we thank and acknowledge those who are looking after him.”

In 96 Tests and 92 ODIs, he scored 4,500 runs and was a part of 479 dismissals behind the stumps.
