Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were unplayable when the second ODI between India and Australia resumed following a long rain break. The host nation defeated Australia by 99 runs to win the series by 2-0 with one more game left.
Steve Smith-led team was bowled out for 217 runs. India scored 399/5 in 50 overs, with magnificent centuries coming from the bats of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.
Ashwin and Jadeja took three wickets each, respectively.
The score was also boosted by KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav’s big hitting in the last phase of the game.
Iyer accumulated 105 runs off 90 balls, laced with 11 fours and 3 sixes. On the other hand, Gill contributed a fine 104 runs off 97 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes.
SKY’s 72 not out came off 37 balls, slamming 6 fours and as many sixes. Captain Rahul amassed 52 runs off 38 balls, with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Australia’s target was revised to 317 in 33 overs.
