Simon Katich after Men in Yellow’s series defeat

Former player Simon Katich opined on Australia’s third defeat against India in the ongoing five-match T20I series. The visitors were chasing 175 to equal the scoreline but despite captain Matthew Wade’s 36 runs off 23 balls, the Men in Yellow managed 154/7 in 20 overs.

Australia were in trouble in the previous game as well, but a scintillating hundred by Glenn Maxwell took Australia over the line on the last ball of the chase with 5 wickets in hand.

Katich called out Maxwell’s name after Australia’s recent thumping. Glenn left India after the previous contest.

“Australia lost the game by 20 runs as there was no Glenn Maxwell in the team for the fourth T20I,” he said.

Simon also spoke about Australian batters’ weakness against the spinners.

“Not just today, the Aussie batters haven’t been able to handle the spin well throughout the series. They played cross batted shots instead of going straight. There was hardly any spin on offer and they could have played a bit differently,” he added.
