Mohammad Irfan Jr was lauded by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

A much-awaited India versus Pakistan clash will be played on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, with Rohit Sharma aiming to win the game and avenge their loss at the same venue in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Rohit, who replace Virat as Team India’s T20 captain, is close to equalling his record.

Rohit has led Team India in 35 T20I matches and has won 29 of those, becoming India’s most successful T20I captain in terms of win percentage.

If the Men in Blue thump Pakistan, Rohit will take his tally to 30 victories and will equal Virat’s numbers on the list of most wins as India skipper in the shortest format. Kohli’s 30 wins came in 50 appearances, while MS Dhoni is at the top with 41 wins in 72 matches.

Overall, Afghanistan’s Asghar Afghan and ex-England skipper Eoin Morgan are the record holders with 42 wins.
