Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dropped Bhuvneshwar Kumar and kept Sanju Samson and Umran Malik on the bench from his Indian playing XI for the second T20I vs NZ. Ashwin, who is not a part of the series, revealed his team ahead of the second match on November 20, Sunday.
The first game was washed out by rain at Wellington. According to Ashwin, Shubman Gill opening with Rishabh Pant or Ishan Kishan will be an ideal combination. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Deepak Hooda can form the middle order.
Ashwin said if Pant doesn’t open, he can play in the middle-order. Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh were included as pacers, while the spinner’s slot went to Yuzvendra Chahal.
