Australia have thumped England in the Ashes 2021-22. The hosts bossed over the rivals, and hammered them by a margin of 4-0. When the Aussie players were celebrating their sensational victory and were ready to open champagne bottles, they were asked to stop by skipper Pat Cummins.
Usman Khawaja, who is a Muslim and his religion doesn’t allow him to indulge in champagne celebrations, was standing away from the team.
When Cummins saw him, he urged the teammates to stop and let the left-handed batter joined them for a group photograph. Once he left, the pacer told other players to start the celebrations.
“This might be a small gesture but this is what makes Pat Cummins great. He realised Khawaja had to dip because of the booze and rectifies it,” read a tweet.
