While Australia’s record in day-night tests is perfect, England has just one win in four attempts.

England have suffered another major blow after losing the first Ashes Test at the Gabba. The visitors lost the match by 9 wickets, which surprised everyone after showing signs of improvements on Day 3.

England resumed Day 4 at 220-2 and lost eight wickets for 77 runs. Chasing 20 runs to win, Australia chased down the target in 5.1 overs, losing only makeshift opener Alex Carey (9), with Marcus Harris (9 not out) hitting a boundary to finish off.

Meanwhile, England were penalized with 100% of their match fees and docked 5 points in the World Test Championship for maintaining a slow overrate in the first Ashes Test.
