Former captain Anil Kumble has heaped praise on Arshdeep Singh, saying he has the talent to emulate Zaheer Khan and do magnificent things for the national team.
Arshdeep has been one of the best Indian bowlers since making his international debut for India and took three wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup’s first match against Pakistan on Sunday.
Kumble, who saw Arshdeep’s growth as Punjab Kings’ head coach, is impressed with the pacer.
“Arshdeep has matured and can be India’s next Zaheer Khan. He can do what Zaheer did for India,” Kumble said on ESPNcricinfo’s Open Mic programme.
“I worked with him for three years in the Indian Premier League, and he was good for Punjab Kings.”
