Chopra also pointed out that England's Sophie Ecclestone is going to attract interest from franchises. With a base price of INR 50 lakh, she’s among the eight marquee players, having taken 36 wickets and scored 187 runs in 25 WPL games.

Former Indian batter Anjum Chopra suggested that Delhi Capitals (DC) might target Alyssa Healy in the upcoming WPL auction, set for Thursday, November 27, in New Delhi. For the 2025 season, DC relied on Taniya Bhatia, Sarah Bryce, and Nandini Kashyap for wicketkeeping duties, but none of them were retained when DC announced their retentions earlier this month.

After releasing Meg Lanning, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are now on the lookout for a new captain ahead of the next season. With her vast experience as a wicketkeeper and leader, Alyssa Healy could emerge as a key target in the auction. Healy captained UP Warriorz in 2023 and 2024, but missed last season due to a foot injury.

“Alyssa Healy is an exceptional player with a wealth of experience that cannot be ignored. Delhi is likely to seriously consider her as they seek to fill the wicket-keeping position,” Chopra said on JioHotstar’s ‘Most Wanted, TATA WPL 2026 Auction’ show.

Chopra also pointed out that England’s Sophie Ecclestone is going to attract interest from franchises. With a base price of INR 50 lakh, she’s among the eight marquee players, having taken 36 wickets and scored 187 runs in 25 WPL games. Currently ranked No. 4 among ODI bowlers, Ecclestone could be a top priority for the UP Warriorz, who are likely to exercise one of their four RTM cards to add her to the team.

“Ecclestone is a genuine match-winner and will certainly attract a high price at the auction. Most teams are expected to view her as a crucial addition because of her left-arm spin,” Chopra remarked.

“Although Delhi and Mumbai Indians may not focus on her, teams like UP Warriorz will certainly look to use their right-to-match card for her. Even Delhi might consider adding her to their squad as a strategic move,” Chopra added.

While Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have no RTMs left, UP Warriorz are in a strong position with the highest budget and all four right-to-match cards intact.
