Fast bowlers James Anderson and Mitchell Starc made gains in the recently released ICC Test Rankings after the Boxing Day Test between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Anderson broke back into the top 5 in the rankings, while Aussie speedster gained a place in the all-rounders’ list to take the fifth spot.
Anderson dismissed four batters in Australia’s only innings in the third Test, which helped him move up three places. Starc leapfrogged Ben Stokes after taking 5 wickets, and he also scored 24 runs not out.
Australian captain Pat Cummins continues to lead the rankings for bowlers, while Jason Holder is the number one all-rounder in the world.
