Chennai Super Kings have confirmed that it has no plans to allow Ravindra Jadeja to leave the franchise.

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup 2022 because of a knee injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said Friday.

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel will replace Jadeja, who played a crucial role in India’s five-wicket victory over archrival Pakistan with a knock of 35 off 29 balls.

The BCCI didn’t reveal when Jadeja injured his right knee but said he’s “currently under the supervision of (the) BCCI medical team” in the United Arab Emirates.

India has already qualified for the Super 4 stage of the tournament and will face either Pakistan or Hong Kong on Sunday. Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have also reached the next round.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings wished Jadeja a speedy recovery. “Speedy Recovery, Jaddu! Come back stronger than ever!” said CSK in a tweet. According to reports, Jadeja is planning to leave the four-time champions after his bond turned sour with them.

Jadeja was made captain, replacing the legendary MS Dhoni in IPL 2022, but he left the post midway after poor form and a disastrous run of the result.

The all-rounder deleted all CSK-related posts from the 2021 and 2022 seasons on his Instagram handle.
