In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, two Australian women cricketers taking part in the ICC Women’s World Cup were reportedly molested on Thursday while heading from their hotel to a cafe. They sent an SOS signal right away, prompting security staff to respond.
Danny Simmons, the team’s security manager, filed a complaint at MIG police station that evening. In response to the complaint, police filed an FIR and detained Aqeel Khan, who was on a motorcycle at the time of the harassment.
Two Australian women cricketers, part of the ICC Women’s World Cup squad staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel, were allegedly harassed near Khajrana Road on Thursday morning. PTI reported that police took the man into custody on Friday.
Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi noted that the cricketers were walking towards a cafe when a motorcyclist followed and touched them inappropriately before riding away.

The suspect’s motorcycle number was observed by a bystander, which led to the arrest of Aqeel Khan. “Khan has previous criminal cases against him, and the investigation is still underway,” the official said.
