On Sunday, August 7, West Indies won the 2nd T20I game against India by two wickets to lead the series 2-0. The visitors, batting first, put 152/7 on the board. Meanwhile, The Windies got off to a poor start, but Nicholas Pooran turned things around with his 67 (40).
After Pooran’s dismissal, India came back into the game, as the hosts required 12 runs to win in 12 balls. Akeal Hosein, the left-arm spinner for West Indies, rose to the occasion and struck the winning runs. After hitting Mukesh Kumar for a boundary, the SRH player copied KL Rahul’s ‘shut the outside noise’ celebration style.

A photo has been going viral on the internet, where Hosein pointed his fingers to his ears and celebrated in KL’s style. Here is the viral picture.

Notably, KL Rahul did the celebration for the first time last year during the IPL game against Mumbai Indians. KL struck his 3rd hundred of the season and celebrated it in this manner. He explained that he did not mean to disrespect anyone with his celebration but to shut the noise of people who tried to pull him down.
The celebration by Rahul drew criticism from Sunil Gavaskar, who, then remarked that he did not understand it. “I did not understand this celebration. Had he scored just 4,5,6 runs, I would have understood it, but when you scored a hundred, enjoy the applause.”
Speaking of Akeal Hosein, the spinner has taken three wickets in this series so far and scored an unbeaten 16 (10) in the 2nd T20I, which included two fours.
