Ajinkya Rahane, who was India’s captain in the historic Test series triumph in Australia, acknowledged Rohit Sharma’s contribution. Virat Kohli had left the series mid-way, and Rahane led from the front. Rohit Sharma supported him.
India went on to win 2-1 after defeating Australia at the Gabba. Despite injuries to main players, the replacements were up to the task and contributed to the team’s success.
“Rohit Sharma’s support was also big in that Australian series. Rohit and I have the same method of backing each and everyone; we have the ambition of letting players play their natural game and give them confidence,” he told Boria Majumdar.
