Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has opined that the player who misbehaved with Yuzvendra Chahal in 2013 should be banned for life.

Ravi Shastri, whose contract with India will end after the ICC T20 World Cup, is expected to join as head coach of the new IPL franchise from Ahmedabad. Earlier, he had shown interest in coaching a team from the T20 league after his term with the Men in Blue ends.

According to Cricbuzz, the Ahmedabad franchise is likely to sign Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar.

“He’ll be selective. He’ll be open to working with an IPL franchise. Year-round travel is something he would like to avoid now,” The Times of India had quoted as sources close to Shastri as saying.

Shastri was impressive with Team India in bilateral tours but failed to guide the team to a title in ICC tournaments.
