On December 22, 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal married choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The couple’s first meeting happened during the lockdown, when Chahal contacted Verma for virtual dance lessons.
Chahal and Dhanashree ended their five-year marriage on March 25, 2025. After the split, Chahal spoke about his life on Raj Shamani’s YouTube podcast. When asked whether he was open to love after going through a tough period, Chahal responded:
“No, there’s nothing to it. Let people think what they want. (Are you ready for love?) It will take time to heal. First, I need to focus on myself. I’m not afraid, but I fear losing someone. I tend to get attached emotionally. When I give, I give my all. That’s why I fear things coming to an end after I become attached.”
