India will take on New Zealand in a two-match Test series, which will start on November 25.

After Rishabh Pant, a staff member of the visitors, tested positive for Covid-19 in England. Moreover, three coaching assistants of the squad have been asked to isolate themselves and none of the staff members will travel to Durham for a practice match.

The Indian team is in England for more than a month since arriving there ahead of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

After the final, the players and the support staff were given a break ahead of the Test series against England.

Pant is currently asymptomatic and he was last spotted during one of the European Championship matches at Wembley.

Meanwhile, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said only one player tested positive for the virus.

“Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected,” Shukla told news agency PTI.
