Rajasthan Royals have announced that wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is set to miss the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in UAE. His wife is pregnant and the couple is expected to welcome their second child soon.

IPL 2021 was suspended mid-way after the emergence of Covid-19 cases within the franchises. Taking to Twitter, Rajasthan Royals wrote, “Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon. We wish them well, and can’t wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily.”

Buttler married Louise Webber in October 2017 and they already have a daughter, who was born in 2019.

Sanju Samson-led side will miss the right-handed batsman in UAE. RR were fifth in the points table when matches were called off. While Delhi Capitals were leading the points table, Chennai Super Kings and Royals Challengers were placed second and third respectively.

Buttler scored 254 runs with the highest score of 124 in the first half of the league.
