Adelaide Strikers won the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 after defeating two-time champions Sydney Sixers by 10 runs.

On Saturday, November 26, Adelaide Strikers won the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 after defeating two-time champions Sydney Sixers by 10 runs.

They had finished runners-up in 2021 after losing to Perth Scorchers by 12 runs. However, the Tahlia McGrath-led team lifted the trophy this time.

Deandra Dottin, the all-rounder from West Indies, was the star performer for her side. She was named the Man of the Match for her all-rounder show.

After the Strikers opted to bat first, Dottin smashed 52 runs off 37 balls laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes. The Strikers managed 148 in 20 overs. For Sixers, Sophie Ecclestone registered figures of 4-0-19-2.

The Sixers were reduced to 16 for four in 5.5 overs as Darcie Brown and Dottin ripped through the batting line-up, sending back Suzie Bates, Alyssa Healy, Erin Burns, and Ashleigh Gardner.

Ellyse Perry and Bolton tried their best but perished in the space of six balls.

The Sixers were bowled out for 137 in 20 overs. Brown and Dottin picked up two wickets each.
