Abhishek Sharma needs 181 runs to become highest run-scorer in T20Is in 2025

Abhishek Sharma’s blistering form in T20s this year has made him one of India’s standout power-hitters. His aggressive starts have cemented his place, and he is likely to play as an opener in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

India will wrap up their campaign in 2025 with a five-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning December 9 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Neither Pakistan nor Bangladesh have any T20Is left, giving Abhishek a clear shot at ending 2025 as the year’s leading run-maker. He needs 181 runs to move past Bennett’s tally and take the crown as 2025’s highest run-scorer. Those runs must come in India’s five upcoming matches vs South Africa.
