Virat Kohli’s friend AB de Villiers has reacted to his 46th ODI hundred. The veteran touched the three-figure mark third time in the last 4 one-day internationals, taking him close to Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 tons in this format of the game.
Overall, he has hit 74 hundreds in international cricket and is targeting Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries.
After scoring a magnificent hundred in the first fifty-over game against the Dasun Shanaka-led team, he accumulated an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls, with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes. The Men in Blue reached 390/5 in 50 overs, with Shubman Gill scoring 116 off 97 balls.
Chasing 391, Sri Lanka managed just 73 and lost the game by a massive margin of 317 runs. The visitors couldn’t win a game in a three-match series.
For his display, Virat was named the Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
Meanwhile, De Villiers took to Twitter to laud one of the greatest batters. “Virat Kohli! Different level,” he wrote.
