Former India player Gautam Gambhir doesn’t hold back his opinion no matter what. He recently compared AB de Villiers and Suresh Raina’s performances in the Indian Premier League and international cricket.
Gambhir said Raina was way ahead of AB de Villiers. Gambhir said Raina won 4 IPL titles while de Villiers could never lift the trophy.
Gautam mentioned that the former Proteas player played for personal records rather than for the team’s success.
“AB de Villiers only had personal records in IPL. Anybody could have scored runs at Chinnaswamy stadium. In 184 IPL matches, ABD scored 5162 runs at an average of 39.71. He hit 3 centuries and 40 fifties.
Suresh Raina accumulated 5528 runs in 205 IPL contests. He smashed one century and 38 half-centuries at an average of 32.52.
