Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has put a question mark on Ishan Kishan’s strike rate following his performance in the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies at the Eden Gardens. In KL Rahul’s absence, Kishan scored 35 off 42 balls, 2 runs off 10 balls, and 34 off 31 balls in three matches.
While speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra wasn’t impressed with Ishan’s strike rate. “There was pressure again on Ishan Kishan. He batted well, but the strike rate is still questionable. Question will be raised repeatedly on that as he is playing because of left-right combination plus attacking batting, but he is not able to do the job,” said Chopra.
Meanwhile, cricketer-turned-broadcaster Chopra lauded Venkatesh Iyer and Suryakuma, who scored 35* and 65, respectively. The duo led India to 184/5 in 20 overs. Chasing 185 runs to win, West Indies finished at 167/9 in 20 overs.
