Aakash Chopra has highlighted that Virat Kohli was not at his best with the bat in the first ODI against South Africa. The 33-year old scored 51 runs off 63 before Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed him. The flurry of wickets after his dismissal resulted in a 31-run defeat for the visitors.
“Virat Kohli didn’t look good and was not in form; else, you don’t see him play so many sweeps. He played those sweeps because he was unable to score runs or rotate the strike,” he said.
The former India opener highlighted that KL Rahul’s slow batting put India behind in the game.
“Rahul was a little defensive, which put India behind in the game,” he added.
