Chennai Super retained Rutuaraj Gaikwad for IPL 2022. The right-handed batter was in sublime form in the 14th edition of the league and won the Orange Cap for finishing as the highest run-getter.
He has been unstoppable in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Gaikwad has led Maharashtra from the front, scoring two consecutive hundreds in the season’s first two games.
While chasing 329 runs against Madhya Pradesh, he scored 136 runs off 112 balls. His team won the game by five wickets.
In the second match with Chattisgarh, he amassed an unbeaten 154 runs off 143 balls to lead his team to victory by eight wickets.
