On November 28, Australia skipper Pat Cummins and seamer Mitchell Starc posed with the World Cup trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Pat Cummins led the Australian men’s team to their sixth ODI World Cup title.
During the tournament, Australia lost the first two games, and Cummins was heavily criticised for his leadership. However, the right-arm seamer proved the critics wrong. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc was pleased with Cummins leading the side and heaped massive praise on Pat.
Starc remarked that Pat Cummins is unafraid to lead the Australian side with his unique approach. “Cummins has been performing exceptionally well in recent months, which has silenced his critics. Some people believe that the captaincy should be done in a certain way, but Pat has never been bothered by that or any external distractions. Australia’s success can be attributed to the way Pat led the team during the World Cup, especially in the final game.”
“We achieved victory by doing things differently and with courage. Now, we stand here proudly with the trophy.”
