Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, Subramaniam Badrinath, has said if MS Dhoni doesn’t believe in your ability then even God can’t help you. Badrinath, who has played six IPL seasons under the captaincy of Dhoni, revealed that the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman is someone who gives players ‘extra chance’ in his team to prove their skills.

The 39-year-old ex-batsman also claimed that Dhoni has his own thought process and he always sticks to it till the end, no matter what happens in the game.

"I performed there as a middle-order batsman. The biggest strength of Dhoni was that he gave players that extra chance. If Dhoni believes Badri is good, that’s it. Once he believes it is right, he sticks to the process that ‘I will give him chances, let him prove himself’.”

"Similarly, if he doesn’t believe you are good enough, even god cannot help you. He has his own mindset and sticks to it no matter what. Irrespective of how we had performed, the owners treated us the same. But we always had an amazing camaraderie and the team environment was very good, the bosses would always be like ‘we know you’re in a champion side’. We had MS Dhoni as our captain so it flowed from the top to Dhoni and then to the team,” added Badrinath.

MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in IPL who led his side to three IPL titles.
