Former India player Aakash Chopra has come up with a name of the player who can be a match-winner for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The former player said that England batter should be in the Playing XI in the upcoming season of the tournament.
He feels Will Jacks should play for the Bangalore-based franchise despite the provision of only four overseas players in the playing unit.
Aakash commented after Will Jacks slammed an unbeaten 108 runs off 53 balls for Comilla Victorians in Bangladesh Premier League 2024. He hit 10 sixes and 5 fours as his franchise defeated Chattogram Challengers by 73 runs. Batting first, CV put up 239/3 in the allotted 20 overs.
Litton Das (60 runs off 31 balls) and Moeen Ali (53 runs off 24 deliveries) also contributed with the bat.
CC were bowled out for 166 in 16.3 overs while chasing 240.
Moeen and Rishad Hossain took 4 wickets each. Coming back to Jacks, he played good knocks in SA20. In 9 innings for Pretoria Capitals, he scored 245 runs at a strike rate of 180.14. He hit 1 hundred and 1 half-century. Will has played for almost all the leading franchises across the world in T20 cricket.
Aakash is pretty impressed with the 25-year-old right-handed batter. “I’d be very surprised if RCB doesn’t find a place for Will Jacks in the playing XI this IPL. In Red hot form. Can also bowl offies…even with the new ball,” he wrote on X.
Overall, he has scored over 4000 runs and taken 49 wickets in 156 T20 matches.
