Deepak Chahar and Rahul Chahar will definitely be one of the battles to watch out for when Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians lock horns in Sharjah, later today, in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Deepak will spearhead CSK's pace attack while Rahul will be eager to continue his fine form for the four-time champions, MI, this season. However, their journey from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, to the cash-rich league started with the same team.

Deepak, 28, made his IPL debut in 2016, while Rahul, 21, did the same a year after that when the now-dissolved Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) had signed them up. But, during the IPL 2018 draft, both players were bought by different franchises, after RPS' run in IPL came to an end.

So far in the tournament, Deepak has bagged 10 wickets from as many games, while Rahul has scalped 11 wickets in 9 outings. Both of them will be definitely desperate to get the upper hand later today.

Ahead of today's clash, Rahul gave an anecdote on his rivalry with his brother in a video posted by Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter handle. The right-arm spinner revealed how the pacer had teased him after CSK’s win over MI in 2018 and he returned the favor in the last season. The 21-year-old also stated that if Mumbai wins tonight, he'll tease him again.

“I prefer doing the talking after the game. I remember, in 2018, he (Deepak) teased me after his team (CSK) had won. Last year, I teased him after we (MI) won. I will tease him again after we win, hopefully,” Rahul Chahar said.

“We never really spoke about playing against each other. We both know that we have to give 100% for our respective teams. When I am up against him, I treat him like any other player,” he added.

Talking about the current form of both teams, Mumbai Indians look likely to defend their title, with six wins in nine outings. CSK, on the other hand, have an outside chance of maiking it to the playoffs, despite collecting just 6 points so far.
