Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube, who made his performance count in the T20I series against West Indies on home soil, recently claimed that he wants to be someone who can perform in any situation. He even feels that he is a proper all-rounder for the Indian team.

“I don’t mind whether I bat at No.3 or 7. I want to be someone who can bat anywhere and a bowler who can bowl in every situation. I don’t know about being a finisher with the bat. I’d be happy to play any role for the team. I feel I am a proper all-rounder”.

In the absence of star player Hardik Pandya, Dube was given the responsibility to fill his boots and he made full use of the chance. He played an important knock of 54 runs off just 30 balls in the second T20I against Windies at the Greenfield Stadium. However, he was unable to perform will the ball in that three-match series.

Dube has often been compared with Hardik Pandya due to their similar skill-sets but the 26-year-old differs from this viewpoint.

“I’m here to perform for India. I don’t think about any competition with Hardik. He’s one of the best around. But I don’t see him as a competitor.”
