The World Cup is in full swing with England beating South Africa in the first match of the World Cup. During the opening ceremony of the event, Pakistan was represented by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai and Pakistan cricketer Azhar Ali. Malala likes watching cricket and is a big time fan of Pakistan bowlers. She took part in the 60 seconds challenge and was seen enjoying with other participants.

“In Pakistan, we have some amazing cricketers, including Sana Mir. These role models are inspiring women to believe in themselves that they are capable of anything. Women should engage more in sports and we all have to contribute to that and encourage women and girls,” Malala was quoted as saying by India Today.

When Malala was asked about her favourite sport, she said: “Yes I follow cricket. It is my favourite sport. I grew up with cricket. In Pakistan, we play in our streets and rooftops.”

When asked about her favourite cricketer, Malala said it is difficult to pick one as there are many. “Hasan Ali, Shadab, many more, many more,” she said.
