Glenn Maxwell
He has been the biggest flop in the history of the tournament, and despite getting big deals, the right-handed batter has failed to score consistently.

Glenn Maxwell was a part of the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025, but the Australian all-rounder was ruled out midway due to an injury. Former Aussie player Ricky Ponting, who is the head coach of PBKS, was the reason behind Maxwell’s association with the team. He told the owners to bid for the Big Show, and the bid of INR 4.20 crore was enough to bring the player back to the franchise. He has been the biggest flop in the history of the tournament, and despite getting big deals, the right-handed batter has failed to score consistently.

Harbhajan Singh, who represented Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the league, once again questioned the need to buy Maxwell.

He commented after Aakash Chopra took Glenn’s name while analyzing the Punjab Kings’ squad before the start of Qualifier 2 between Shreyas Iyer’s team and Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 1.

“He doesn’t give importance to the Indian Premier League. Glenn Maxwell just shows the trailer but never arrives for the entire match. He plays differently for Australia and has won close matches for his country over the years. However, he loses focus in IPL. Maxwell doesn’t deserve INR 4.20 crore as it is a lot of money for a player like him,” Harbhajan Singh said.

He scored 48 runs in 7 matches at an average of 8.00 and took 4 wickets in IPL 2025.
