Former India cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has decided to donate his two years’ salary to the PM-CARES fund set up to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He also urged everyone to contribute to the government’s fight against the virus.

“People ask what can their country do for them. The real question is what can you do for your country? I am donating my 2 year’s salary to #PMCaresFund. You should come forward too!,” wrote Mr. Gambhir.

Earlier, he donated Rs 50 lakh from his MP Local Area Development Fund (MPLAD) fund for equipment to treat coronavirus patients in Delhi government hospitals.

He has been quite active in the last few weeks and has requested everyone to help those in need.

Meanwhile, India won its second World Cup on April 2 in 2011. One of the leading websites had posted on India’s victory and credited MS Dhoni for the title win. Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to teach them a lesson.

“Just a reminder: #worldcup2011 was won by entire India, entire Indian team & all support staff. High time you hit your obsession for a SIX,” he tweeted quoting the web portal’s tweet.
