Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets in match number 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, May 6. This was CSK’s first win over MI at Chepauk since 2010. Bowling first after winning the toss, Chennai came up with an excellent performance to restrict Mumbai to 139/8. Devon Conway (8/10): Top-scored in the chase with an impressive 44 off 42 balls. Hit four fours and fell just before the finish line, trapped lbw by Akash Madhwal.
Ajinkya Rahane (5/10): Helped himself to a quick 21 off 17. Hit one four and a six before falling to the guile of Chawla.
Ambati Rayudu (3/10): Failed as the Impact Player again. Was out for 12 off 11. Hit one-six before being dismissed by Tristan Stubbs.
Shivam Dube (6.5/10): Chipped in with a nice cameo of 26 not out in 18 balls. Smashed three sixes in yet another impressive innings.
Ravindra Jadeja (7/10): Got the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, cleaning him up. Proved slightly expensive towards the end. Finished with figures of 1/37 from four overs.
Deepak Chahar (8/10): Bowled an important spell with the ball. Got the big wickets of Ishan Kishan and MI skipper Rohit Sharma. Finished with wonderful figures of 2/18 from three overs.
Matheesha Pathirana (9/10): Was the standout performer with the ball for CSK, registering figures of 3/15. Ended Nehal Wadhera’s resistance by knocking him over. Dismissed Tristan Stubbs and Arshad Khan as well.
Tushar Deshpande (7.5/10): Was among the wickets once again. Got the first scalp of Cameron Green, knocking him over. Also dismissed the big-hitting Tim David. Ended with figures of 2/26.
Maheesh Theekshana (6.5/10): Did not claim a wicket but was economical. Went for only 28 runs in his four overs.

Rohit Sharma (0/10): Played a poor scoop to be dismissed for a duck by Deepak Chahar. Now holds the record for most ducks in the IPL.
Ishan Kishan (2/10): Fell for 7 off 9, miscuing a big hit off Deepak Chahar.
Cameron Green (2/10): Was sent to open the innings, but the move did not work. Was knocked over by Tushar Deshpande for six.
Suryakumar Yadav (5.5/10): Looked dangerous during his 26 off 22, but could not carry on. Was cleaned up by Ravindra Jadeja.
Tristan Stubbs (4.5/10): Struggled for momentum in his innings. Was out for 20 off 21 balls.
Tim David (1/10): Failed to deliver the finishing touches this time. Fell for 2, trying to take on Tushar Deshpande.
Nehal Wadhera (9/10): Played a fighting knock for Mumbai under pressure. Top-scored with 64 off 51 balls, hitting eight fours and a six.
Jofra Archer (7/10): Did not pick up a wicket but was economical, going for 24 runs in his four overs.
Piyush Chawla (8.5/10): Once again was Mumbai’s best bowler. Dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane to finish his spell with figures of 2/25.
Akash Madhwal (6/10): Got the wicket of Devon Conway in the only over he bowled.
Arshad Khan (2/10): Was expensive, going for 28 runs in 1.4 overs.
