Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets in match number 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, April 20. Bowling first, Delhi bowled out Kolkata for 127 in 20 overs. They made heavy weather of the target but chased it down in 19.2 overs. Here are the player ratings for DC vs KKR IPL 2023 match 28.

Delhi Capitals

Prithvi Shaw (3.5/10): Registered another failure with the willow. Was bowled for 13 off 11 balls, cutting a delivery from Varun Chakravarthy back onto his stumps.

David Warner (8.5/10): Guided DC’s chase with 57 off 41 balls. Struck 11 fours and looked to be taking the team towards victory when Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed him.

Philip Salt (2/10): Chipped a simple return catch to Anukul Roy, scoring only 5. 

Mitchell Marsh (3/10): Bowled two overs for 25 without claiming a wicket. Took a good catch at slip to dismiss Venkatesh Iyer. Failed again with the bat, scoring 2 off 9 balls.

Manish Pandey (5/10): Played a handy knock of 21 from 23. Was dismissed against the run of play.

Axar Patel (9/10): Excelled with figures of 2/13 from three overs. Dismissed Mandeep Singh and also got the big wicket of Rinku Singh. Chipped in with an unbeaten 19 under pressure.

Aman Hakim Khan (0/10): Was dismissed for a duck as Nitish Rana cleaned him up.

Kuldeep Yadav (8/10): Also claimed two wickets while giving away only 15 runs. Got the wickets of Jason Roy and Anukul Roy.

Anrich Nortje (8.5/10): Dismissed Venkatesh Iyer with a hard-length delivery, having him caught at slip. Returned to have Umesh Yadav caught behind. Ended a wonderful spell with figures of 2/20.

Ishant Sharma (9/10): Playing his first IPL match since the 2021 edition, he bowled with fire. Got the big wickets of KKR skipper Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine to end his spell with figures of 2/19.

Mukesh Kumar (6.5/10): Went for 34 runs in his four overs. Got the wicket of Litton Das. Andre Russell struck him for three consecutive sixes. 

Kolkata Knight Riders

Jason Roy (7.5/10): Top-scored for KKR with 43 off 39 balls. Began in impressive fashion but had to rein himself in as wickets kept regularly falling at the other end.

Litton Das (1.5/10): Was out for 4. Top-edged a short ball from Mukesh Kumar to square leg.

Venkatesh Iyer (0/10): Found the pace of Anrich Nortje too hot to handle. Was out for a duck, caught at slip off a quick delivery.

Nitish Rana (7.5/10): Holed out to mid-on for 4 while trying to take on Ishant Sharma. Chipped in with the wicket of Mitchell Marsh and Aman Hakim Khan. Finished with figures of 2/17.

Mandeep Singh (3/10): Was bowled for 12 by Axar Patel, following a failed attempt at a reverse hit.

Andre Russell (8.5/10): Played a mature knock of 38 not out in 31 balls. Lifted KKR after they slipped to 96/6. Hit one four and four sixes to ensure KKR crossed 125.

Rinku Singh (2/10): No Rinku magic this time. Hit Axar Patel to deep square leg to be caught for 6 off 8 balls. 

Sunil Narine (5/10): Made 4 before pulling Ishant Sharma to deep midwicket. Disappointed with the ball. Went for 36 runs in his four overs and did not claim a wicket. 

Kulwant Khejroliya (2/10): Had a poor match. Conceded 20 runs in 1.2 overs. Bowled a no-ball in the last over. 

Umesh Yadav (4/10): Bowled one over for six runs.

Varun Chakaravarthy (8.5/10): Was excellent with figures of 2/16. Cleaned up Prithvi Shaw before trapping David Warner leg before.

Anukul Roy (8/10): Also came up with an excellent effort in a losing cause. Dismissed Phil Salt and Manish Pandey to end with figures of 2/19.
