The Asian giants played a solid brand of cricket, winning all five of their Super 12 matches before being stunned in the semis by Australia. Pakistan had a lot of positives in the tournament and the biggest plus was Babar’s complete control with the bat and his leadership attributes.

In the Super 12 match against Afghanistan, Babar scripted the record of becoming the quickest to 1,000 T20I runs as captain. Babar achieved the tally in just 26 innings and broke the record of Kohli, who had set the record in 30 innings. Against the Afghans, Babar smashed a 47-ball 51 for his side.

Babar is one of the three players in T20Is to net an aggregate of 25 or more fifty-plus scores. Rohit Sharma (28) and Virat Kohli (29) are the two other players. Babar has amassed 24 fifties and a century so far in T20Is.

Babar is a classy player and in a short period of time, he has already scaled new heights. There are a few players in modern-day cricket who have the pedigree to be considered as top players.
