Delhi Capitals

Shikhar Dhawan (9.5/10)

Was the standout player of the match. Hammered 92 in only 49 balls, launching a brutal assault on the PBKS bowlers. Blasted 13 fours and two sixes to make a tough chase easy for DC.

Prithvi Shaw (7/10)

Blazed away to 32 from 17 with three fours and two sixes. Just the kind of start DC needed in a big chase. Added 59 for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan in under six overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin (7/10)

Did not pick up a wicket but kept things tight with his variations. Conceded only 28 in his four overs.

Marcus Stoinis (6.5/10)

Rode his luck and ended up unbeaten on 27 from 13.

Avesh Khan (6/10)

Did a reasonable job in comparison to the senior pacers, keeping the runs down with some tight bowling. Picked up the wicket of the dangerous Nicholas Pooran. Had figures of 1 for 33.

Rishabh Pant (5/10)

Could not finish off the match for DC. Fell for 15, just before the finish line.

Lalit Yadav (4.5/10)

Came in with only a few runs needed and hit a couple of fours to remain not out on 12 off 6.

Chris Woakes (4/10)

Got the wicket of Chris Gayle but proved expensive. Went for 42 in his four.

Kagiso Rabada (4/10)

Had yet another off-day. Managed to dismiss KL Rahul but went for too many again – 43 in his four overs.

Lukman Meriwala (4/10)

Had a tough game, going for 32 in his three. Came back to dismiss a well-set Agarwal. Should get better with experience.

Steven Smith (3/10)

Looked out of sorts. Was out for 9 from 12, mistiming a short ball.

Punjab Kings

Mayank Agarwal (9/10)

Cracked a brilliant half-century. Was responsible for getting PBKS off to a rollicking start. Scored at a quick pace throughout to finish with 69 from only 36 balls. Hammered seven fours and four sixes in a fantastic knock.

KL Rahul (7/10)

Scored another 50 on his birthday. Featured in a 122-run opening stand with Mayank Agarwal. Made a good 61 but was a bit slow, taking up 51 balls. Could not accelerate after Agarwal’s dismissal.

Arshdeep Singh (7/10)

Was the best bowler on display for PBKS. Broke the opening stand by dismissing Prithvi Shaw and was economical in his three overs.

Shahrukh Khan (6.5/10)

Played an impressive cameo of 15 not out from 5, hitting one four and a six.

Deepak Hooda (6/10)

Hit a couple of much-needed sixes in the slog overs. Finished unbeaten on a useful 22 from 13.

Struggled to stop the flow of runs. Gave away 41 in his four. Picked up Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant but was too late in the day.

Jalaj Saxena (5/10)

Was decent with the ball. Gave 27 in his three without claiming a wicket.

Nicholas Pooran (3/10)

Did not have many balls to play but failed to find the boundaries. Consumed eight balls for his 9.

Riley Meredith (3/10)

Is finding IPL really tough. Conceded 35 in 2.2 overs. Sent back Steve Smith with a good short ball.

Mohammed Shami (2/10)

Wasn’t able to grip the ball and looked frustrated. Bowled too many loose balls and was taken for 53 in his four overs.
